The Wise Fool Tarot deck is a modern interpretation of ancient archetypes. It has 85 original cards painted by Cade Burkhammer, including a 140-paged book. The Wise Fool Tarot (WFT) is based on the mysterious dogma of the traditional Tarot Major and Pip cards. It is a combination of beautifully detailed artwork and clever conglomerations of various esoteric and contemporary perceptions of the human experience. It consists of 88 paintings on 12x18 inch wood. WFT is a colorful, inspiring, funny, and dark contradiction. There are seven added cards: two Devils, two Worlds, and a “Muggle” card preceding the Major Fool. Four Pip Fools are added in order to keep in check the powerful suit and element they represent. There is the Fool’s story running through out both the Major Arcana cards and the four individual suites of Minor cards. The four suites have a list of about 20 characteristics unique to their suit such as direction, element, time of day, age, color, etc.The Minor cards are designed to play poker games with if so desired. ***** Also included will be a CD of four 15-minute instrumental songs based on the four Minor Suits. As the evolution of the tradition of Tarot goes, I find it important to go above and beyond the decks that plainly copy the wonderful popular Masonic Rider/Wait Tarot deck. Some decks have great art with ordinary meaning while other decks have informative meaning with average art. The Wise Fool Tarot is a postmodern reclamation of ancient wonder. It is my goal to offer fresh images and interpretations of various decks and my own personal experiences. I don’t believe my art and writing are yet among the great artists, writers and visionaries. I attempt to make up for this by juxtaposing realities, marrying opposites, enlightening the dark and darkening the light in order to see all sides of physical and psychic reality. The ordinary person acts smart and at times arrogant, while the enlightened soul acknowledges that there is always more to learn and do. They are wise fools. I wish for the WFT to reach out to diverse audiences. Seasoned Tarot users will get a new practical look at what they are already familiar with. People who may think Tarot is weird and useless will hopefully get introduced and accustomed to it as being a way to meditate and open up their dormant awareness. The explanations are simple in their complex everyday ideas. The reader can get what he or she desires from the stories. And the images can stand on their own as fine art works. By reviewing the multitude of other Tarot decks available, I have put much consideration in making the WFT a unique quality piece of art, literature, theosophy and philosophy. I know the world is ready and willing to appreciate a work of Tarot art like this. The Wise Fool Tarot will be fun, helpful and prophetic in the decades to come. <<BACK
